What

Well, we are kicking off our first meeting of the year with a series of developer shorts this Thursday.   We will have three speakers demonstrating the following topics, hopefully you will find them interesting.

Check the location page for directions.

Brian Lagunas:

Will be presenting on how to use the WPF ribbon control to style your fancy new WPF applications like Office 2007.  This ribbon control is quite powerful and opens up quite a few more layout possibilities when compared to the old WinForm menu bar.

 Scott Nichols:

Will be presenting on how to use the patterns & practices Prism framework to develop Composite WPF and Silverlight applications.  As well as explaining why you should be interested in Prism and what it brings to the table for developers diving into the world of the XAML based technologies.

 Chris Brandsma:

Will be demonstrating the Microsoft patterns & practices Unity (IoC/DI) application block and explaining why this very nice piece of code and others like it can drastically change how you write your applications.

Pizza and refreshments will be served between 6:30pm and 7:00pm.   We have a few items to raffle off so bring your bank roll.
